Originally from Syria, Dr. Alkhatib completed his medical degree at Damascus University, Faculty of Medicine. He traveled to the United States to attend the University of South Alabama, Mobile, Alabama where he conducted four-year residency in psychiatry. After that, he completed two-year subspecialty in child and adolescent psychiatry at Vanderbilt University where he served as the child chief fellow his senior year and received the leadership recognition award for his achievements. Dr. Alkhatib is a tactful psychiatrist who stays up to date. He attends numerous scientific meetings and seminars.
